Grew tired of this engine in my junk box so it was time to turn it into a runner. It came to me with a Flyer electric motor with zinc pest drivers so it did not work. The frame had been ground out some to accept the Flyer motor, so a little more grinding was all it took to get the Marx motor in it. The Marx motor has been reworked with a better governor so it runs muck slower than normal.

I love the reduced speed, too - it looks just right.
I just finished doing the opposite to a Marx 198 clockwork that had a rusted up motor. I put in an electric double reduction motor and some weight and a working headlight, and filled the clockwork holes. It's a runner!
