I've always been attracted to ordinary items that have been preserved over the years with an extraordinary amount of care.

 

While not all tin, here are some Marx items that I would put in this category. At least one sales price tag shows just how ordinary it seemed at the time.

     That is one nice looking Marx Signal Man and its illuminated too.  I don't think one is likely to find a box for the Signal Man as crisp as the one you have.  I have two Marx Signal Men, one illuminated and one non-illuminated and both in superb shape with their stop signs but their boxes look shabby next to yours.  You can't help but chuckle when you view Marx engineering techniques.  There is nothing like having your Signal Man riveted to the door.
