I picked up some free ultra caps listed above.
Will the 5 volts they are rated at keep a PS1 protosound system alive? If not if I wire them in series it should work right?
These are not the ultra caps I typically use so I thought I would ask.

You will need to have to in series, and also you need some 4.7V Zener diodes across each one to balance the charge and also avoid over-voltage. In series they will give you 1F at 10 volts, which should be plenty for the PS/1 electronics.
