Mark, ("The Menard Man"), Menard's website lists the O Gauge Menards® Hobby Shop Building as SOLD OUT ONLINE and unavailable and tells people wanting to purchase it to check local store availability but all Menard's stores list it as special order. The few stores I've called tell me either they can't or they won't order one so what gives for someone who wants to buy it? Can this building be bought from Menard's or is it gone forever? Are there plans to have more manufactured and available for potential buyers during 2016?

ogaugeguy,

Mark (The "Menard Man") will be able to answer this question definitively, but each building seems to be a limited edition. When they run out, they run out. As I understand it, some stores may have one left over from Holiday sales, but train inventory is not out for display and for the most part I would assume that most store employees are knowledgeable about what non-train items from their store are in stock and on the floor, but not train stuff. That is only seasonal. I also would assume that your regular floor employee knows very little about O-gauge trains at all. It is kind of like asking Ace Hardware if they have any of their Christmas Village Buildings available in July. Hope you find one.

Rick

Greetings To All,

I had a similar experience with the Camaraderie Bar & Grill.  It was "Out Of Stock" on line but I was able to locate one in Findley, OH which is about 2 hours west on my residence, (hey, I'm retired with a boat load of free time and I always enjoy a road trip and a destination).  Now the "Punch Line".  A few months after I acquired my Camaraderie Bar & Grill it shows as being back in stock on line.  The people at Menards are smart and a "Limited Edition" piece will only be limited, in certain circumstances, until the demand increases.  Just Sayin'.

Do you know his email or exact user name here so I can check his profile for email address?

A search under Mark, the Menard's Man came up empty.

Thanks, John

I picked up my Kubota Flat Car delivery this evening from Crest Hill and spotted the Hobby Shop in the Seasonal area so I bought it. Looks like it was ordered online ( green sticker ), however, never picked up.

I have not opened the box.

I will send it to you if you are interested and I can/will open box if you prefer me to send photos.

I paid $69.99 and I am tax exempt so we would have to figure out shipping from IL to PA.

If you are not interested, I will either return or keep for myself, but I want to offer to you 1st.

ogaugeguy,

If you decide not to take tshearer up on his offer, I would be happy to help. There is a very small number of Hobby Shops available in stores that are left over from the holiday season as Ranger Rick mentioned.

Just let me know. Thanks for asking!
