I am going to hookup a micro switch to my raised bridge area for reasons well known!

I purchased a philmore # am1703 heavy duty snap action switch it has 3 wire terminals commom-NO-NC if I run track power to the common post the NC post has track power and when lever is depressed the NO post has power isn't this just the opposite of how it is supposed to function?

or is my mind not grasping this correctly? as I thought NC meant when switch lever was depressed that power would be supplied to it?

I originally thought connect track power to NO terminal and then when switch lever depressed power would run to the NC post that didn't work at all.

thanks for any help on this.

I have no idea what I did but once I made a bracket to mount both micro switches now common and no are connected and working so now no more 140.00 repair bills because bridge wasn't in down position.

I think I should do the other side of bridge as well in case I decide to run in other direction. can I just use the 2 existing switches as they are rated at 125 volts 15 amps ac.
