Very nice - did you spackle around it?....
Yes, the light weight spackle worked well. I was not to careful how I applied so it looks old and cracked.
Looks great Dan!
Dandy, Dan !
Dan that came together really well.....old and cracked huh?....Sounds like me..
This is about as far as I will get before the open house in March. The roundhouse is painted and I may start one of the side and rear walls. The piece of Homasote with the roundhouse sub floor is removable for now so I can work at the bench.
Very nice looking Dan! Terry
Looking very nice!
the turntable and roundhouse always adds a lot to a steam era layout.
Nice job
Looking very nice!
I really need to thank Rich for putting up with my questions I now have the new window and doors for this older roundhouse. Now to start staining the wood for the floors.
After seeing the turntables around here and in some famous spots, I may have to rethink omitting one.
NIce Car Works H-20-44's. Will those be painted PRR?
Dan you've done a really nice job there. Looks like its fit into a rather small space; what length is the bridge and how wide is the roundhouse yard area? I'd love to have a turntable but I can't seem to find the space.

No, my own road.

It's the 24" turntable. It fits my longest locomotive. The Korber roundhouse was cut down also to fit the space. From the end of the pit to the back of the roundhouse is 40" Back of the roundhouse is 28" wide.
I wanted my tracks straight but I have seen people angle their tracks so the roundhouse could be closer to the pit.
Looks good Dan ,
I missed the new roundhouse windows somehow offered by Rich,(Korber models) glad you mentioned that in your thread. Have you installed them yet? Can you get clear glass?
Yes, they come with laser cut clear plastic to fit. The back of the laser cut wood windows are sticky material for the clear plastic.
Dan, Great job on the layout. Can I post your photos of the turntable in our customer photo section? Thanks

Thanks Al! Yes, use what you want for pictures.
Turntables are a symbol of steam railroading more than any other feature. I want one too, but space is hard to find for such a big footprint. You are a master ats squeezing stuff in Dan...very well done!
Bob
Thanks Bob. It's not so much the turntable, it's the roundhouse that kills the space Since I don't run mammoth steam engines I was able to get the smallest version of the table.
Very nice.
