Well no .. I'm not trying to kid you.

This is a real miniature railroad museum in Hamburg, Germany and it has brought in over 5 million visitors so far.

My daughter sent me the YouTube link because she knows that I like model trains.
I wanted to share it with you because I thought you would find it as fascinating as I did.

With 163 views and only 1 negative comment, I see I was wrong about that !
If you think I'm trying to scam you than why don't you just take the time and look it up for yourself ?

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know this.
Yes, I am rather new on the forum and no, I have never seen this miniature railroad before and certainly was not aware that it had been posted on here already.
Ray...no harm done at all, and often times things do get repeated here by newer members, topics get rehashed, ideas replayed, and it is all consistent with the turnover of members and the arrival of new ones who come to participate. I believe I recall you were building some excellent scratchbuild structures when you first arrived...got any new projects these days?

I have been working a little bit on a model of the house that we live in right now but only the basic wall structure is completed so far.

Because we have moved around a lot, I don't have a layout but I will be building one in about 3 years after my wife retires and we make our last move.
Meanwhile, I have been building train equipment off and on since the late 60's and just started constructing buildings last winter.

Unlike most of you, working on my trains is limited to the winter time when the weather gets nasty enough that it's not worth trying to heat the garage and work out there.
This winter has been very mild so far so I haven't taken much time to work on the model of the house.

Don't sweat it too much, some people will make comments here just to irritate others. Or maybe they have nothing else better to do.

BTW, thanks for sharing, I always enjoy watching that layout Cool

Thanks for the support guys.
I felt like an idiot after I became aware that this had been posted several times already.
I should have realized that you guys would certainly have been aware of this museum already.

Since my daughter sent me that link, I've done some searching and found the other videos on it.
I am really impressed with the amount of activity they have.
Shows what you can achieve when your willing to spend millions on a model train.

If I ever made it to Europe, that is the first place I would want to go to.
Hi Ray,

Don't worry about the COF, there are still people who don't know about this.

Looks like we are getting the snow Thursday & Friday according to 7&4 News, time for you to work on the house. Smile I'll be heading for my basement to work on my layout benchwork.

I visited Miniatur Wunderland in October and it is beyond awesome. My wife is German and has a sister living near Hamburg, so I spent the day visiting it. I still only got an overview of it, there is just too much to take in during one visit. So many little scenes sprinkled throughout the layout. BTW, I stood in line for a hour and a half waiting to get in, and I was there on a slower day.

Did you exhibit your crawler at the Buckley show this summer?

My wife and I show at Buckley every year and are there for the whole week.
We had 7 spaces this last summer.
I've been real busy in the garage so we may have up to 10 spaces this year ( depending on how much I get completed yet this summer ).

Do you go to the Buckley show ?

Ray,

I just searched and found your last post titled "Factory (finished)". I missed those. You did a very nice job.

Did you happen to save the files for any of the older posts? The links are dead so I guess the posts are expired. I would love to see what else you did on that.

Phil

Yes I did.
They are saved at: http://www.jcstudiosinc.com/Bl...tegoryMain?catId=799

I live about 6 miles away and try to get there when I can, but I work on the ships and am often at sea in August. When I am there I hang out at the steam train. Back in the 70's I used to fire on a 2-8-0 up in the Upper Peninsula and would like to join, but I'm still away too much. Maybe when I retire.

That is slick because we setup right behind the Votruba Leather Goods store that is across the street from the train station.
I watch the train come and go all week.
If you're at the show this year, stop by and chat for awhile.

Hey Cesar,

I'll have you know I resemble that remark. I irritate others because I have nothing else to do....Well I do but this is so much more fun Big Grin
(Just kidding buddy)

David

As you can see Ray these jerks here are semi- harmless ...well sometimes.
