Mixed Track

Has anyone mixed track brands on one layout? Specifically Lionel tubular with MTH Realtrax or Lionel tubular with FasTrack. I want to use my Lionel switches with either of the other track system. Also if some one has done this, can I expect any problems with running trains or electric conductivity ? My switches and uncoupling tracks are in good working order and can't see spending the extra cash.

FasTrack to tubular is done all the time. Just use the Lionel 6-12040 transition piece.
