Anyone use these signals. The instructions say they flash after 20 seconds, long after the train has passed. I was thinking a flasher relay would be required to make them flash immediately. Just not sure if that would work with the internal flasher circuit.

I think you need a train detection device like this one...
While not familiar with these specific crossing flashers, I'd suspect that this notation...." The instructions say they flash after 20 seconds"...indicates that the individual bulbs and/or the circuit controlling them have a thermal bi-metal device that causes the flashing. And, if that's the case, and you seek an instant, steady alternating flash of the bulbs, you'll need to gut the original works, replace the bulbs, and wire them into a detection/flashing circuit, such as Chuck suggests above.
Regardless, if the instructions say 'flashing' won't commence for the first 20 seconds of applied power, you'll still wait 20 seconds after a train detection/flashing circuit triggers power to the crossbucks.
Probably not what you wanted to hear. And perhaps other folks on the forum have personal experience with this specific product and can advise you otherwise.

If changing/modifying the electronics you can make the lights flash the way you want (left-right together or left-right alternating).

KD- I assume that they have an internal bi-metal to make them flash. From what I see in the photo, they come with a power switch and nothing else. My thought is that with an external flash unit they should work. The section of track that I want to use them is only 20" long. I doubt the train will be on the section for 20 seconds regardless. They are cheap enough on a certain auction site that I may give it a shot.
I am putting them on a 027 curve and originally bought a set of MTH gates but I didn't plan for the clearance the counter weight on the gate needed and I can't use them.
CJACK- thanks for the link.
