I'm upgrading an MTH Premier ProtoSound 1 Steam Locomotive to Electric Railroad Cruise and ERR RailSounds. This engine has the large Pittman style can motor.

When I put it on to program its ID number and the , everything worked fine. However, the second I tried to test the engine's movement in reverse, it overloaded the transformer. Fortunately, the circuit breaker cut the power quickly. It seemed to do this only when the engine was going into reverse. Forward motion created no problems, but there was an unsettling clicking sound (like I knew it shouldn't) when trying to go backwards. I even tried testing the motor with a DC transformer, and nothing seemed wrong.

Any help here is appreciated. Thank you.
