It has been reported on this forum that when you press the bell/horn button when running trains in conventional mode the engine will slow down. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I don't really think so . Mine does it and it's sits right next to my Z-4000 which has the circuitry in it to prevent it but I paid almost 400 bucks for the Z and 239 bucks for the MRC so I guess you get what you pay for. It's still a nice transformer IMO.

My MRC Dual 270 slows the train when I blow the horn...most annoying. It was taken off the main line and now powers switches and accessories. It does a great job in its new role. My layout is new and properly wired and connected.

THE REASON WHY YOUR TRAINS SLOW DOWN IS BECAUSE YOUR TRANSFORMER IS USING DC TO BLOW WHISTLES AND BELLS. THIS IS NORMAL WHEN BRIDGING DC OVER AC. THERE IS A CIRCUIT YOU CAN BUILD TO BOOST THE VOLTAGE WHEN YOU BLOW THE WHISTLE AND BELL.
