I saw a post of a club 2 rail layout with a PRR T1 duplex running. It may have been a Weaver or Williams? So I did a search for a MTH version (I sold my 3 rail).

There's one in Italy for sale that's an old MTH (PS1?) version. That doesn't even come up on a search of MTH engines on their site.

However, this one did.

Does anyone here have this engine? I believe it has PS2 3 volt board and was made in '06?

Thank you.

Guys, a bit of advice from an old timer, NEVER buy trains on credit.     They are toys, not necessities.   You should always have the spare cash before you buy.    You can use the card, but have the cash to pay the bill when it comes.     You pay interest for your house and your car, but your hobbies should be discretionary income.

Pay off high interest CC b/4 you buy anything else.  Terminate any payments that bare interest asap.  Buy dependable transportation for cash.

Many years ago my financial planner advised me to unclutter my life and discontinue all magazines, throw out all circulars, do not respond to any radio commercials & silence TV commercials.  It worked!

As someone once said "Why spend (or borrow) money you do not have to buy things you do not need  to impress people you don't know or like?"

Google retirement savings rates to see what you will need to have saved at which mileposts in life.   God willing you will live long enough to get to a point in life where wasted train money may come back top haunt you.

Due in part to our hollow stock market, aging RRers and tech advances, trains are well into rapid depreciation.

The estate market is glutted.

The antithesis of this is that some folks end up the richest people and the most miserable people in the nursing home or the cemetery.

Certainly the bane of our society is easy credit... so I"m certainly not disagreeing with you when you say to control your spending  and to choose your debts VERY wisely.

I always try to buy down my credit cards so that I'm not too deep into debt. Just as I was, I got a great deal on a new truck. Of course, there were more great deals on trains too good to pass on. So that took me too far off course. Just now as I'm clawing my way back, the interest skyrocketed.

I knew it would happen as it always does when the stars align, but I let "the great deals" get the best of me. Even now, my hot water tank just blew, and they are twice the price I thought they'd be. I get that changed out only to find out that some MTH G scale tank cars, just sold for half of what they were worth.

Maybe it was a good thing I was too busy to watch them go..???

I got to have it all!!! Mine Mine MINE.....ALL MINE!

I have never paid credit card interest.  Ever.  When I graduated I could not get an auto loan - no credit history.

I have maxxed out a couple of credit cards - jet fuel ain't cheap!  But the company took pity, and issued me an executive credit card.

Trains? PayPal.  No interest payments.  Airplanes? Cash.  House? They finally gave me a VA loan.

Well !   I used a credit card once! a long time ago, to buy a Sunset PRR steam turbine, never did it again! I use my recycling efforts to raise pocket money ( 10c deposits on drink containers, a great resource if its available ) for trains. If there an't enough there, it an't happen, and thats that! PRRJIM gives good advice.      (cTr....Choose the Right )

Nothing at all wrong with using a CREDIT CARD! But you better pay the monthly balance of in TOTAL, or you will likely end up  paying far more than the actual cost of what you are buying.

Indeed.  In 2016 the average household was carrying close $16k in credit card debt; ~$17k this year.

I thought I would look for the MTH version for a couple of reasons. They usually run solid for me, and they are ready for command upgrades if not already inside. I run all my engines with MTH's DCS system.

I tried one older Williams Challenger and it's OK. The detail is a little less and it's louder than my other engines (geared lower?). So far it is all good though. That Williams T1 looks pretty good from here.
