Does anyone know if MTH ever recorded a sound set from the running of the restored 4014? It is stated in the 2015 vol. 2 catalog that a sound set would be available for download. Does anyone have any info on this?

The release date for the latest version is supposed to be in September. If there is an accurate sound set I suspect this one would have it and available for download then.

Thanks Pete! Hopefully that is the one. The sound set is good on my 4014 but it would be cool to get the actual recordings.
I sure hope it's a good set, I have the 2017 Premier Big Boy, and the whistle on that one sounds like a wounded cow! Quilling it just sounds like a more seriously wounded cow, but it sounds nothing like the actual Big Boy whistle!
Just to be clear I have no idea what the sound set will be like but they have had plenty of opportunities to get the real deal.

I've been hearing it's the "real deal", and for sure the 2017 model is NOT the "real deal".
I hope so! Even the chuffing sounds rather generic.
