It's not gone yet!  I agree with you.  I totally changed my mind about the remote.  When I first saw it, I thought it looked stupid and wondered why they didn't just use Bluetooth.  Eventually, I succumbed to using it.  Now I like it.  I still think the thumbwheel sucks.  But I prefer the remote to the touchscreen.  I may buy a second remote this year and stash it.

I completely agree with you, the Thumbwheel is/was my only concern as well. Although I didn't like that I cant seem to have the "Labor" effect manually turned on and accelerate the Steamer (614 greenbrier PS3.0) at the same time. Unlike my Legacy remote that lets you dial in EFX and/or Labor anyway you like. Sorry, going off on a tangent here....

Meh. I've got both. They have good and bad but I find the app to be quicker to use. Feature menus are easier to access and I don't have to remember soft key acronyms. I do like the remote for punching buttons from memory though. I've tried the app on both my phone and tablet and find it easier to use on the phone. It's less bulky.

To each is own though. I've grown up through the computer revolution so using apps and a touch screen are second nature to me.
