When trying to run or running a train using the DCS handheld I lose control of the speed through the handheld. I can not change the value of the speed in the handheld remote.  If I move to another part of the basement maybe I can get control, maybe not.  Even placing the handheld right over the TIU will not gain control, like they are not communicating.  Lots of heating ducts in the ceiling, are they causing a problem?

Thanks,

Greg

Bob & Barry,

Batteries are new.  I'll try the tethering shortly, but the handheld is relatively new.  The TIU is one of the origonals.  Gonna look at the software in the TIU also as it is of a possible different version than the handheld.  Handheld is a newer purchase than the TIU.  If it works with the cable then what?

Thanks for the ideas

Greg

Thanks for your patience Barry, but I had to go play train before I could really answer your question.  Turned out it was pretty much everything.  Found a thread which refreshed me on how to open the remote and after pushing the transceiver board back in firmer and placing some foam rubber between the case and the transceiver all is now running well except for one known spot in the basement which has always presented a problem.  Answer to that problem is just don't stand there when running trains.

Thank you

Greg
