MTH DCS Remote

I saw anMTH DCS Remote for sale in E -Bay for $22.00. The listing indicated that many were sold and more were available. I had difficulty getting one a few years ago, and now they appear to be readily available. I use Proto 2 and 3. If they are outdated, can they be reprogrammed? What gives?

I think that is for a remote holder.
