While there's many glitches with the app, this is not one of them.

So you are saying this was programmed on purpose?  Why?  Why bother with a Startup Shutdown button if we can just make the train go by tapping the speedometer?

Why after you shut your train down would you want it to move by accident?  It's very easy to accidentally tap your device.  Much easier than rolling a thumb wheel.

I use this feature every once in a while. I'll silently move and rearrange engines in yard so as to not distract the main line action with unneeded noise. It's also helpful if you need to quickly move something around the layout with having to wait for the startup sounds & sequence.  Now on the newer PS3 engines, when I command them to move they automatically startup and make sound, kind of annoying to me but still not a big deal. But you can still "fool" the PS3 engine into moving without the auto-startup.

You don't actually do a full shut down.  You only shut the sounds/lights/smoke off, you can do the same thing with the remote.   Access your engine but don't do a start up and you can go forward/reserves but with no sounds/lights/smoke.

While there's many glitches with the app, this is not one of them.

Yup. If you had the remote you could do the same thing. You shut the sound/lights/smoke off but the locomotive will still respond to the remote or WIFI app. With PS2 the locomotive will move silently while shut down. PS3 starts the locomotive sounds back up when it starts moving.

TMCC locomotives will still respond to the remote after being shut down as well, lest you think it's a DCS only thing.
