MTH GP38-2 PS2 Battery/BCR Replacement

Just picked up an MTH GP38-2 with PS2...looking for a manual (MTH 20-2562-1) and will need to replace the battery with a BCR. Need a recommendation for best one and a hiw to explanation.

The manual for the engine can be found HERE.

This is a 3-volt PS2 board so J&W Electronics has these for sale or you can make your own using the proper supercapacitor (5.5v 1.5f) and the salvaged connector from the battery in your engine now.
