When runnig my MTH Proto is lash usps, the trailing units do not totally isolate everything except the pulling/power. For e xample, on one lash up the second engine's head lights and whiste activates when only the lead unit should respond. Secondly, is there any remedy for couplers that do not fire when activated while running DCS?

Hey Daniel,
We'll be happy to help. First, help us help you.
What are the item numbers of the locos involved in your lash up? How did you add them to your lash up?
Which loco or locos have issues with the coupler? Item number?
20--3183-1 Nickel Plate Road #595 lead engine running forward
20-3291-1 Nickel Plate Road #765 next engine running forward.
NIckel Plate Road 20-3291-1 coupler not firing
when you build the lash-up (consist), are you making the last engine the "tail" engine? If it's not the tail (and pointed forward), it's rear coupler won't fire.
Sounds like some type of issue building the lash-up (consist).
How strong is your track signal?
Try building the consist on a test track and see if the issues resolve.
Last unit is the tail engine. System will not accept second of three options when only two locomoitves. How do I test track signal-good idea
page 75 of the DCS manual says (using the remote)
scroll to the engine you want to test and select it
scroll in the soft keys to "more"
scroll down to track signal ( select it)
scroll down to "end" to stop the test.
Thanks.
Generally, typically, most of the time, when a DCS function is not working properly either the track or the engines wheels/center rollers are dirty.
