MTH LO-V MOW Subway set PS2 issues

if when you power it up in conventional do the sounds continue when you lose power for 7 to10 seconds, the sound should stay on if the battery is charged and working ok.

Did you try a recover engine?

Figuring the old blue NiCad is 10 years + old, it probably makes sense to replace it.

It seems like you can't do that with the MTH DCS app, so no.

yes, it does stay on for a good amount of time after power goes off.

that's what i was thinking, but where would i be able to find a new one like that? Are they just regular hobby ni-cads?

Should be able to get one at any train shop that sells MTH or a BRC replacement.

The battery could already have been changed.  Since this works in conventional, and has long shutdown sound, the issue is not the battery.  I guess explorer doesn't have that.  If you can take it to some place with TIU, try recover engine.   Is the explorer limited on ID #, I assume it is since not full system.  G

The Explorer can only run three trains at once I think, but I don't know if it uses ID numbers because I've never seen them.

taking it somewhere that has a TIU seems like a good idea, so thanks for that!
