I have the original unit. Has run fine for years then started doing the same racket as others have posted. Have looked at the previous threads, attachments etc. still doesn't work properly. Here's what I have done so far 1) disasembled. 2) opened both gear cases, cleaned all gears with toothbrush and proper cleaner. 3) re-lubed minimal amt. white lithium grease. 4) reassembled unis. done this 4X to see if I missed anything. Still the same problem.
Question- is there a home position for the lever arms with teeth on the underside? To my way of thinking- it can't be the gearboxes topside. There is no dust, nothing that would cause a stall of motion that I can see... Would out of position levers cause a timing problem? Pictures of the underside with the correct starting position would be useful. This is the favorite grandkids and my own operating accessory. I am totally stumped!
PS- I have been involved with Postwar since 1970
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
