I see the new ones are comming out around oct. time frame. there are still older ps2 ones out there for sale. were the older ps2 models good runners or did they have any issues. I would like to get one ,but not knowing these that well I do not want to buy a lemon. besides the updated ps3 from ps2 and whistle smoke what will make these latest mth challengers better?

The PS3 with NO batteries is the way to go. PS3 is a much better operating system, whistle smoke aside. Just my $0.02.
How does MTH (1:32) look running with USA Trains (1:29)? Is that a noticeable difference?
I formerly combined 1:29 with 1:32 trains (ASTER Bigboy (1:32) with Aristocraft freight cars (1:29)); it does not look very good but is acceptable. I always did put a flatcar behind the tender, since a boxcar would dwarf the tender. Now I use MTH 1:32 freight cars with my Bigboy which looks much better.
