What I'm really going to miss about MTH scale-wheel locomotives is that you can enjoy them on 2-rail and 3-rail layouts. I think I'm going to get hold of a couple of Atlas 2-rail Trainman locomotives and play Dr. Frankenstein. By the way, this locomotive likes Ross #5 turnouts, but HATES #4's.

I hope MTH doesn't mind this.... just a quick video of here first run....

I still need to polish off my hand prints and lift the deck plate up into position before connecting the tender. (both done now)

There's a plastic shipping bar that threw me on how to connect the tender? I finally realized it had to go! Dah....

Now I don't know which I like more? Shiny or dull? The shiny in person, is very impressive.

Maybe 2???? crazy

hold the phone...... more issues. Crap.

Edit:

This engine draws more than any other MTH engine I've owned with the smoke on and it running. I had to add power drops to fix areas and connected my Z4000 handle to raise the voltage. I need to test more and return with conclusions. I was hitting 4 amps at 18 volts (Lionel PH180s) in poor power areas before.

She sure found any weak areas in my layout wiring and power spread. I only ran 2 laps now but she's smoothed out.

It's around 2.5 to 3 amps at 22 track volts AC in. She's reading 15.8 to 18.x volts at the board now. I thought it might have 2 motors? Nope. Beast.
