I know its a low voltage, but what is the voltage for the light bulbs in an older PS1 diesel. I've burned out enough of them to know they are less than 12 volts.
Are they 5 volt bulbs?

If they are for the direction lights driven from the PS/1 board, they're 1.5 volt bulbs.
Are cab lights and number board lights a different voltage?
It really depends on how they're powered. If you have constant voltage boards in the units (Premier models), then they'd quite possibly be 6V as Dale says. Only the directional ones powered directly from the PS/1 light outputs are the 1.5V bulbs.
Flash Yes, the others were 6V, or the occasional 18V for interiors such as doodlebugs and small steam headlights (screw in bulb on smoke unit).
The directional lights are the 1.5V and they plug into the bottom board connectors left and right of the rectifier bridge. G
