I have a MTH  20-3369-2  PS3  steam engine 2 rail w/scale wheels cab #46234  Running on DCC  tried loco #6234 and 03 on my DCC unit no response. No lights, sound or movement. Tried conventioal w/my Z4000 every thing works.  I'm not familiar with MTH DCC O scale. I have heard  MTH DCC  is hard too program . I would like to remove that # and get it back to reset 03 . Any suggestions ?

Jimmy, no problem. Hopefully, the reset will change the address to the factory default of 3. Then you can change the address to what you want it to be. I use the “long” address on all of my DCC locomotives. It isn’t difficult to change to the long address. First you need the values for CV 17 and CV 18. There are many calculators out there. The first one I found was at www.ruppweb.org. Just plug in 4263 or 4234 or whatever you want it to be. Then hit calculate and note the results for CV 17 and CV 18. Then follow the procedure below and you will successfully change the long address. Yes, this is a few more steps than TMCC or DCS but it isn’t hard to do. I hope this helps.

much easier to download JMRI (its free) . you can then read all CVs in the loco and change them on the computer screen with button clicks rather than all the long drawn out ways of doing it in the OPS mode. changing Cvs one at a time with the hand held is a pain , it also allows you to save your settings in case you loose them for some reason .
