I'm having a problem with a particular MTH Realtrax Left Hand switch. I had a similar problem awhile back and was able to solve it, but for the life of me I cannot recall the solution and I am hoping someone on the forum can help. I'll attempt to describe the scenario. The problem switch is on a mainline and when the switchpoints are set to allow a train onto a spur and wheels cross over from the switch to the next piece of track there is considerable arching that occurs on both outer rails of the switch and the switch motor chatters until the entire train has crossed over the problem spot (where the first piece of spur track connects to the switch). I feel like there maybe a rail(s) that needs to be isolated, but I have not figured that out yet if that is the case. I don't know if this is important, but want to mention that on the divergent route (the spur), just a short distance from the left hand switch there is a Right Hand switch leading to another spur track. I'm not experiencing any such problem with this second switch (the Right Hand switch). Again, I do not know if this has anything to do with the problem, but the problem Left Hand switch is located on a reverse loop.
Any advise or suggestions at this point would be very much appreciated. Thank you! Bo
