Last Monday 14 September I ordered from MTH thru Midge 4 MTH Remote Thumb Wheel Cradle and 1 Thumbwheel assembly. I received the parts today so i am not sure what issues folks are having with MTH but order on Monday and receive on Thursday that is pretty good service. Now it could be the parts I ordered and that they were in stock. But 4 day turn around pretty good.

Liked your parts order from Midge , especially that you were still able to get the thumbwheel ' assembly '.
It's been reported on the forum for some time now that the assembly was no longer available. Good order Rick. Great to see it didn't take long for it to come through also.
Have fun and be safe 😷.
Thank you for passing the word, Rick! I’ll have to look up the part numbers and give her a call!
Could you post the P/N's? Thanks!
Gentlemen here you go:
BG-5000000 - Thumbwheel
BG-5000007 - Thumbwheel cradle
The thumbwheel PN is BG-5000000
Much Appreciated!! Thank you!
Does the thumbwheel (BG-5000000) include the cradle? When I search for the BG-5000007 cradle nothing comes up.
It comes up on the dealer side, apparently they don't sell this part to end users for some reason.
It's listed as available.

I left Midge a phone message about 3 pm, and she just called me back at 5:30. My order for both is in! Thank you again Rick!!
I ordered the thumb wheel bg-5000000 part. actually 2 of them. could not find the thumb wheel cradle. how do I get that part? is that not the main part that breaks easily? can only parts people get the cradles?
If you can get the thumbwheel assembly complete, you're doing good, that hasn't been in stock for a long time!
I just checked, and I'll be dipped, they list the complete thumbwheel assembly as available again! Get them now while they have them!
John,
do you know the part number for the thumb wheel assembly and price
Mel, it's in the post a couple above yours! BG-5000000 and the MSRP is $20.
Mel, I had to call MTH Service, select parts department, and Midge called me back. I gave her the part number for the thumbwheel BG-5000000 and the cradle BG-5000007 and she ordered both for me. BTW, the cradle is $4 each. I ordered two of each part number
It worked real well for me by ordering on their website.
Just called. The thumb wheel itself was out of stock (word travels fast, I guess - maybe John got all the ones he needed for backlogged repairs ), but I was able to order some cradles.

I'm surprised they had thumbwheels at all, maybe the word does get around. I actually got my supply of thumbwheels months ago when I heard they would not be available soon.

Hope the supplies keep coming ..........but it sure seems like someone should be getting the message ! 🙄
Guys did I create a run on thumb wheels or upset anyone. I did not mean to start any problems or hard feelings just wanted to comment on the great service I got from MTH on a parts order after so many folks complained about not getting any parts.
No upset here, I already had thumbwheels.

Not upset here either, I appreciated the heads up!
Only posted to update the current availability based on my experience.
Even though I hadn't really prepared a proper list (I was originally only intending to jump on the remote thumb wheel parts since I saw this thread a couple of days ago), Midge was also able to help me with some traction tires. So I bought some for subway sets and some diesels. I think she said there were only 2 sizes they were currently out of that match a few steam engines, but it sounded like they would be getting more in. So it sounds like most sizes are available at the moment.

You knew when this got posted that unless MTH rationed them out they'd all be hoarded and gone right?😉 Would have been better to have those of us that need them pay in advance and produce to order?
glad I orded mine as soon as I saw this. I scenced they would be snatch up and gone had I have waited a day or two.
RJT, no worries, although I didn't get any of the parts, thanks for posting. That's what this forum is all about. I appreciate it.

Did they fix the problem with the $50+ shipping charges?

Thanks Rick.
Don't know how this will play out but it sure was great to have you throw a ray of sunshine our way with some good news about some supply chain from MTH. 😎
