Are there inslating jointers for the connection of two switches on different lines. I know you can cut the center rail, but I'd prefer not to do that. Thank you for your assistance.

Glue a piece of plastic or stick a piece of paper between the connecting tabs under the switch. Or bend them so they dont touch each other.
The other thing you can do is flip the switch over, find the strip that electrically connects the center rails of the 2 legs of the switch, and remove it from ONE of the switches. Then, the entire crossover leg would be powered by one switch all the way to the frog of the other switch.
