Yes i think so Watch this one of minehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4iPE11hDPU&feature=g-upl
It is a great set. One of the very best sets ever offered in the hobby.
Thanks for the replies guys. Over the past few days I have been looking into wireless command sets and mth seems to be the best bang for the buck because this set is nicely detailed and is capable of being controlled by full DCS. While looking at Lionel's options I
was so confused on what to get and was shocked how much it would be I am very dissapointed on Lionels options when it comes to command items and I knew the QC was a long shot because I even had problems in conventional. I find it so cool how you can operate tmcc and legacy trains with the TMCC command base via DCS. So after this set I will probably go to full dcs but for now this set seems to be the best of the best in rtr digital command sets. Thanks again guys

Do be advised if you are looking for a set with remote control that not all include it. Only the two most recent SD70 starter sets, the UP and CSX Husky Stack sets, include remote. Previous SD70 sets such as the BNSF, NS, etc include a standard transformer and controller. MTH did, as its first SD70 RTR set, CSX and UP mixed freight sets with boxcar and tank car that includes a Z-1000 transformer. If you are looking for a set with the DCS Commander, only the CSX and UP Husky Stacks, the most recent SD70 sets, include it.
Have you look at mth rtr2012 http://www.mthtrains.com/sites...ldcats/2012_ortr.pdf
I am just starting out in the O scale hobby and have purchased the CSX 70 SDACe RTR set 30-4213 and am quite pleased with it for the most part. Two caveats though- it has trouble negotiating O-31 switches and 90' crossovers. If I don't run through a switch at 25 smph or through my crossover at 40+ smph it with either hesitate for a split second or get stuck. I can't run a slow train due to this situation. When it hesitates it loses electrical connection for a split second. Sound is affected by the hesitation. For example if it is in clickety-clack mode it goes back to normal diesel sounds or if the whistle is blowing it hiccups. I believe my crossover problem is due to my lack of proper easment in and out, but until I expand my layout with larger curves I can't fix that. When it gets stucks it shuts down.
On another note the SD 70, in IMHO, looks dorky going thru O-31 curves due to the hangover. This loco is 17 inches long. Also the the double stacked containers are too high for my old Lionel steel girder bridge so can only run with one container on each car. Tunnels will also be a problem unless you build portals higher.
I also have the RTR set 30-4216 PRR 4-6-0 steam and being a much shorter engine it runs A-OK on the same layout at any speed. It does have the benefit of PS 3.0 FWTW. I do like the detail/features of the Imperial line of the SD 70 over the PRR entry set and PS 2.0 is fine with me.
Thanks for more replies. SJC thanks for the concern I made sure the one I will be ordering has the DCS commander. I recognized some older ps2 sets andeven newer ones didn't have one that is why I chose this set because of its detail and features over others sets. I will probably run the set on o-54 and there's one or 2 o-31 curves so it should look fine. I was wondering if you have to charge the battery out of th box? How long d the batteries last?

I have the NS RTR Stack and it also included the DCS Commander and had the Z-750 transformer. Really nice set.
I also purchased the BNSF SD70ace RTR starter set back in 2010 and it did come with the wireless remote and all. This set is what got me back into 0 Gauge! It is incredible! Especially if/when you upgrade to the full DCS system! The looks are amazing, the smoke is awesome, and the sounds are perfect! If you can find one for under $350 (which you can), its a MUST BUY for a first time set!
I notice someone earlier said only the UP and CSX come with the wireless.... but I got the BNSF and it is wireless!

You are correct, it did come with the remote. My Mistake. I bought just the engine and cars from the set, Catoctin Mountain Trains kept the Track and Tranny. IIRC, they had it marked down already to about $350. My price was $300 plus tax for the engine and 3 cars.
