Must for the Vision Line: GE BQ23-7/High-Nose B23-7 Diesel-electric locomotive

If the people at LIONEL are making oddities for the Vision line, how about something more recent.

The General Electric BQ23-7/High-Nose B-23-7 diesel-electric locomotive in the Vision line would also allow them to make the regular B23-7 diesel loco in the standard line of diesels.

It would also give the Southeast railfans some more great offerings.

I prefer valuable tooling resources to be spent on a B23-7

rather than a FUGLY 3 paint scheme loco.

I would like a the B40-8W demo unit pint on the B40-8W body!

I'd go for one of these! Lionel could also make B23-7's out of the same tooling with just a different cab and trucks - quite a few possibilites there.

I like those! Also would like a U 18B in Maine Central, almost like an MPC U boat with more detail. Maybe I will get brave if I can find an inexpensive U36 at York.

The only way for LIONEL or others to do the SCL/CSX and SOUTHERN/NS variations of the GE B23-7 cabins and trucks is to have them made first, then the standard cabin B23-7 can be made later.

TOo bad Swafford couldn't take a drawing of the B23-7...
cut off the Fugly square cab...
then add the latest GE W cab/2 pain window.
Bet that would look a LOT better!

The Vision Line has now had the Baldwin Centipede.

The GE BQ23-7 diesel is just as attractive.

One of the only HO engines I have is the BQ in Seaboard System from Bachmann mint in box with it caboose. I used to see this in Southern VA in the 80's going to my grandparents. I didn't realize any made it into CSX at some point I remember cab windows plated over.
