Well I got a totally unexpected surprise today! I had submitted my documentation for my Scenery Certificate in the Achievement Program (commonly referred to as the Master Model Railroader program).

I expected it would be at least a few months and possibly having to do some revisions to get my Scenery to meet a passing score. My certificate arrived today! I am elated!

I currently have four of the seven certificates required for Master Model Railroader certification in my possession.

I have all the requirements completed for my Volunteer Certificate. I have not as of yet submitted my documentation. This will be my 5th certificate.

I am hoping this upcoming election to be re-elected to my current position of Director at Large in the Midwest Region. If if if that would happen and I would be re-elected, I would earn my Offical Certificate. That would be my sixth certificate. One to go for lucky 7!

I am really enjoying participating in this process as a personal challenge. I have met so many good people. There are so many advantages to being a Member of the National Model Railroad Association.

I confess I was inspired to join in 2018 after Learning that only 1 "O" scale person had ever succeeded in becoming a Master Model Railroader. There have been approximately 660 since the beginning of the program in 1961.

I know many O scale modelers who possess outstanding skills! I'm assuming for whatever the reason may be, many people in O scale have elected to not participate in the A.P.

Hopefully, some others may become inspired by my progress. It is a fun program. The people you meet along the way is the best part by far!
