It is hard to believe but this layout is now 7 years old. I really have not changed anything in these 7 years. The object when designing this was to get as many trains running as I could in a small space. In addition I wanted at least some type of a yard. That was a very tall order for a 9 X 6 space.

I can run three trains along with a trolly line for maximum action. The bottom lines has 6 switches that connect both tracks along with the little yard. So when I want to operate I have the ability to do so.

The layout is wired for MTH, TMC and also Conventional for maximum flexibility. It is powered with three 180 Lionel Bricks and a Lionel SW 130 watt transformer. I run the trolly line and all accessories off of the SW transformer. Conventional operation is done through the TIU variable positions. Lets just say I have run a lot of wiring for such a small layout.

I learned to do everything myself and most it came from reading on line forums such as OGR and other web sites, way to many to remember.

As you can see I use two different track systems. I was going to use all Fasttrack but when I wanted to use the MTH bridge I found out that it was best to build the upper level with MTH track so I didn't have to modify the Fasttrack for the MTH Bridge.

In any event I thought I would share my layout on its 7 year anniversary.

I still have a long term goal, I have two options for a larger layout. I have an out building that is 60ft by 30ft and it is three stories. I have always dreamed of building that super layout in that building. The other option is I have a very large attic space that can be used. Both can be climate controlled with a little work so it is just motivation to do it one day.
