It took 5 years after building the layout, but I finally have a complete and period looking control panel. I found a relatively matched pair of 440C panels at a train show recently and this inspired a new direction. Now I just have to remember what blocks all those knife switches control π i also included a small area for important beverage positioning. ππΈ. One handles the outer loop and the other the inner loop, corresponding to the main controls on the Type Z.

Sweet!
Period appropriate and fully functional. It couldn't be better.

Outstanding!
The 440C panels are retro cool for hands-on control of electricity flowing to a layout.
Although TMCC or Legacy control of trains with a hand-held controller, or through wi-fi, Bluetooth, an app, a tablet or a PC may be more in tune with our times, some hobbyists prefer the "old fashioned" way of doing it.
Carry on, regardless ...

That looks really good. I have been thinking about making a portable version for floor running.
Do you have any more pictures of your layout?

Very, Very nice....including the scotch glass! Great work
Nice looking layout! You have a nice mix of tin.
Very nice panel and layout. Just make sure you don't spill your cocktail flipping a switch.
