So my 3D laser print has limitations in that I cannot use it to cut or engrave. So last month I purchased a 2D 15W laser cutter/engraver from China. [Instructions in English not so great] Ah the Chinese what would we do without that un-balance in trade. The cutter is a great complement to the 3D laser printer as it can build much larger 2D engraved FLATs brickwork , windows and doors that are not done well in solid 3D.  The 15W is not strong enough to cut clear or reflective surfaces but it will cut and engrave most other opaque materials.

At any rate, the new cutter needed to to assembled. But first I needed to convince my wife that I could take up an "unused portion of HER garage". I have the basement, a deals a deal.

So I came up with a hanging support where the laser cutter would reside and fold-up after use. Also, I needed an exhaust vent for the cutter fumes.

so since my wife is away until 3pm today, I can use the house to assemble the cutter; So far:

this is a 40" x 40"  cutter that should be good for a whole lot of large and small buildings and other 2D stuff.

I promised Chugman (Art) that I would help him build the Spencer Packing Company facade to accompany his new Atlas Spencer Packing Co. cars. I have other plans as well.

Got to get going I only have a few hours left............
