OK, I have settled on the wiring plan and wire colors for my new, and 1st, layout. I have also split the plan into two posts: Part-1 for Track Supply, and Part-2 for switch machine wiring.
PART-1 Track Sopply:
I will have three main tracks coming from three separate transformers, and each going thru a separate, designated terminal strip.
From each main terminal strip, there will be one Common 14 gauge (BLACK) wire per block, connected via jumpers, going directly out to the track. There will, then, be one Hot 14 gauge (RED) wire per block, connected via jumpers, going out to a designated SPST toggle switch. These Hot (Red) wires will then go from the toggle switches out to feed a second terminal strip, which will feed all single and multiple connected track blocks. Miltiple connected blocks will be fed, via jumpered sections, by the wire from the designated toggle switch, so that each block connection will be fed thru one (RED) 14 gauge wire from this second terminal strip.
Each Common (BLACK) wire will be paired with the appropriate Hot (RED) wire, again one per block, and each pair will have a TVS connected between the Hot and Common wires at the location where these main wires join with smaller 18 gauge track feed drop wires.
This should give me a good star coconfiguration for later DCS implementation.
There will also be a TVS at each transformer out, and ultimately in each locomotive.
What do you think?
