Hello everyone! I’ve been following this amazing forum for the last two years gathering all kinds of inspiration for what is now my second layout! This is by far the greatest community in model railroading and I appreciate all of you! Now...the topic of my first post is nascar circuits. I’ve looked all around for some inspiration and have come up empty. I’m looking to build a static(no slot cars) 50’s early 60’s dirt track diorama for my layout. I have a fairly small area to work with so it would be a quarter mile track at the most. When I figure out how to post pictures I’ll show you guys the space I’m working with. Just curious if anyone has done it. If you have...let’s see em’!!!

Even a quarter mile oval would take up a lot of your layout. An eighth mile dirt bullring would be cool. Sprint cars, midgets & bombers--- what could be more exciting?
An eighth mile would have to work. I don’t think I’ll be able to do an oval to exact scale.
Looking at the space again I don’t think I’ll have enough room for the oval there anyway. Someday I’ll find something to fill this void. Maybe it’s time for another expansion... 😏

Might be a good area for a crop farm and roadside vegetable stand.
Looks like baseball diamond space to me...

A 1/5 mile banked midget track would be a cool idea. 1/4 scale midgets are available from time to time on EBay produced by Gilmore, a great model.
It was a baseball diamond before I moved that to a better location. I have a Lionel diner I was thinking about putting in but it feels like there’s a lot of wasted space around it.
How about a partial track, say 300 yards with the attendant structures: bleachers, pits, fenced areas, etc Might build it against a wall or other backdrop and do some creative painting to flesh it out.
A while back I picked up a couple of 1:43 sprint cars. I think you may have the space for a very small dirt track for sprint cars or even smaller scale race cars available today but a track for "Cup" cars wouldn't look right.
