Have a need for a speed controller for a Crest constant voltage 10 amp DC power pack to run a conventional DC 2 rail layout. Something along the line of an ol' rheostat. Not sure if a ESC would work. I am out of my element here.
Thank you. Tom

Sounds like you need one of these:
Thanks Bob, however that is not my goal, I just need a speed controller.
Why not just use a rheostat? You can get one for about $20. Back in my HO days we used a large transformer with a couple of stud rectifiers for power and a few rheostats for train control.
Tom,
How about this:
Only $6.99.

That's only good if the load can tolerate PWM and isn't expecting pure DC.

No problem Tom!
I used one when I was into HO, worked pretty good too, but I would have preferred a knob vice pushbuttons. That was 27Mhz I believe, wonder if there's anything like that now in 2.4Ghz???
2 wires from the receiver to the track, it needed a power supply to the receiver. 4 batteries in the transmitter. I think I packed it up and gave it to my grandboys last year when I gave them my G scale Bachmann 4-6-0 with a BlueRail board in it and a spare chassis still wired for track power. I looked this morning and couldn't find it so I'm sure that's where it is.
