Hello:

i am building an elevated loop in which I will have a complete half circle of Fastrack O-48 at one end. I will be mating the Fastrack to Atlas-O bridges on the straights and, therefore, plan to use a half circle of Atlas-O 45 on the other end.  It may just be a matter of cutting in a 3” straight piece of Atlas track but I am hoping to avoid cutting track and i know Atlas has some smaller filler track pieces.  Hoping someone has a solution to offer in designing an Atlas-O 45 half circle where the diameter will be that of the 0-48 Fastrack.  Thanks!

Greg…..wow, thanks so much for coming up with that.  That would surely extend the diameter, possibly more than I can live with it as it will reduce my straight run lengths.  Also. I was hoping to avoid O-36 curves, although only having 2 may not matter much.  Good to know, however, there is a solution without having to cut the track.  Thank you.

There is another, less convoluted method to match-up an O48 half-circle to an O45 half-circle.  At the half-way around point of the O45 half-circle (3 tracks in each quarter circle), insert one Atlas 4.5 inch and one Atlas 1.25 inch piece of straight track.  I tried this in SCARM track planning software and it worked perfectly.
