I just found this light in a novelty store near my home.

It is made by MTH

I need help in wiring it so I can manually light each color via a toggle switch.

Can this be done ?

I used the Black wire as a ground.

The Red wire to power lights up the RED Lights.

The Green wire to power lights up the Yellow Lights but if I moved the Green wire a little bit it changed to the Green Lights !

Any help is good help.

Thanks in advance.

Brian

You can find MTH diagram here:  http://www.mthtrains.com/content/30-11005

You will need either a relay, isolated track section or the items shown in these notes

o Block Signal (Single Track) (Double Track) diagram

+ This type of signal is normally green signal. When a train enters the isolated rail section the signal turns red signal. When the train leaves the isolated rail section the signal turns yellow signal, and then after a short time, returns to green signal. Since this type of signal has 3 wires it is more complicated to wire and also requires a 12v DC Relay (Radio Shack 275-206c or equivalent), $6.49; and a Full Wave Bridge Rectifier (Radio Shack 276-1173), $1.99. The polarity of the full wave bridge rectifier is not important. Follow the diagrams to wire this type of signal.

Or by use of TAD and Connector as shown on MTH Site

Thanks for your help Dave and Mort.

Two good answers that will work.

Now I have to decide if I want to pull up some of my design work to achieve the proper way to wire it (Mort) or just use the toggle method I was thinking of.

Tomorrow while I am driving 200 miles I will think this over.

Happy New Year and a Healthy one for all of us.

Thank you again for the responses.

Brian
