Thanks to photos put on here by forumites, I have begun my creosote plant.  I was going to use 3" PVC pipe for the retorts, the long tubes with tracks in which loaded flatcars were impregnated with creosote under heat and pressure, but found light green sewer pipe, lighter and with thinner walls, that takes plastic glue, and am proceeding with that.  But, while I could find flat caps for the closed ends of the sewer pipe, I need shallow domed ends for the door ends of the retorts.

3" PVC caps are too big, too large in diameter,  and heavy for this use.  What or where can I find pieces of shallow domed plastic 3 inches in diameter? There must be something made out in the world that will work for this.....I saw no caps for sewer pipe similar to those for PVC pipe.
