Engineer Joe,
Thanks for the info. These aren't used for corn syrup, are they? It seems except for the Atlas 25,500 tankers, there's no real "General Purpose" tankers available from Atlas, correct me if I'm wrong. I planned to get some of these when funds allowed to use as general purpose.

You can see some types of tank cars and their uses here:

here's a great thread about tank cars from Ted Hikel

Atlas came out with a direct competitor to the MTH funnel flow car with their 17,600 gallon tank car in January 2007. It is based on a popular car from Trinity Industries.

Your posted film with engines coming to crossing and wondering why signal bells stopped working and engines entered crossing? Also comment about DCS. I don't like the pause between fwd and rev.

Joe: Do you have a specific industry in mind where these tankers will be used?
Thanks,Al Hummel

They are great, Joe! Added new shots to my thread here... https://ogrforum.com/t...nk-cars-studio-shots
Santiago, you're making me want even more of them!
Great pictures.
Hey Joe, nice video! I like those CSX Dash 8s!
Curious to know what that little switcher is under the overhang (may be a company-owned switcher)?

I would think it was? We had our own switcher at Occi Chem for moving cuts of cars around the plant. We also had the trackmobiles for spotting singles.

Crossing signals that include gates (This one does.) can be set so that the bells ring constantly while the flashers are activated, or, if desired by the railroad, that they stop ringing when the gates are fully lowered. This appears to be the latter.
Having over 400 cars on the layout, over .....1/2 are atlas O......I'm happy with everyone of em.....
Love when old posts get brought back up...I get to see things I haven't seen. I love the Atlas Tank cars...I picked up 4 or so recently. They have nice weight to them and look great.
