These boxcars are listed as Premier on the product webpage and they are under that category on the archive site as well. I was under the impression that this was a brand new tooling from Atlas, so I would expect them to be in the trainman or master product line. Was this a product under development by MTH that is being released by Atlas or was this just an accident. This is mainly a question for @Paul Graf, but I imagine other people will be interested in knowing the answer. Thanks.

The Atlas Premier line is made from tooling that Atlas bought from MTH. For example, here is the webpage for Atlas Premier locos.

I had the same thought. Not sure why that was the decision. Looks like a great car, though.
Bob, this is true for most Atlas Premier items, but this new boxcar is listed as all-new (non-MTH) tooling, but is labeled as "Atlas Premier", hence the OP's question.
Not sure what’s so confusing about this. It’s brand new tooling in the Premier line, not Trainman nor Master. Even the trucks are new Premier trucks.
If Premier Line no longer means ex-MTH tooling, is Master Line going away? If not, what will be the difference between Premier and Master?
Master and Trainman aren’t going anywhere. Premier is just another line Atlas picked up from MTH.
The difference will be price and boxing, just how Atlas has differentiated between Master and Trainman.

IMO, all 3 lines make sense. Premier sits in the middle between Trainman and Master line. MTH Premier often was compared to Master line products, but IMO wasn't quite there in either rolling stock or locomotives. I am glad Atlas has premier line offerings, while I favor master line, I have both trainman and premier line products along with the master line products.
Remember Paul Graf writing on 10/15 that this car and the center beam were coming from two different factories ? I think -- this is an OPINION -- that's what makes the box car a Premier; it's coming from the "MTH factory" and perhaps their design and "execution" teams. [ Oh joy....]
