MERKUR has finished their new catalogue 2014. New items are the Baureihe 01, one of the biggest steamlocomotives form Germany. The BOER 030 from France.  The German E 52 and the DR version of it and the E 63. MERKUR is working very hard on the announced J94. And some new track, crossings in 90, 45 and 22,5 degrees.

I hope to receive the BR 01 and the Boer 030 at the end of this week. When I am possible to show some pictures I will.

You are able to download the catalogue by following the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ij7...%20MERKUR%202014.pdf

Hi Seafoid,

There is no US distributor or importer for the trains. I am able to ship worldwide. And handle everything with the people in CZ. Unfortunateley hardly no one at MERKUR speaks English, German or French. I have found my way to communicate.....
Like you may read in one of my replies you will see what the shipment costs are and how I deal with the Dutch VAT (21%). Outside the EEC I can deliver without VAT but you have to pay your own taxes. My prices on the webshop are including 21%. So yiou have to withdraw that.

I like the small British tank engines and the functioning tank wagons these could be useful for our club dinner. Wine delivered by train.....

I also like the look of the classic Meccano style sets at the back of the catalog.

Like many model train enthusiasts of a certain age I grew up with a Gilbert Erector set along with AF trains.  After I retired I again became interested in building erector/construction set models.  Unfortunately there wasnt much out there (some basic Erector brand sets at Toys R Us) which soon disappeared.  I went to the internet and discovered Merkur and ordered their largest set (#8) and was generally impressed with the quality and affordable price.  I bought an number of these sets and have built quite a few models over the years but these sets are now harder to come by and have also become more expensive.  Girders and Gears has one of the better web-sites if you are interested in erector set systems and have a number of models to look at.  Meccano (now made in France) still makes sets but they are very expensive (some are thousands of dollars).  Another good resource is the Meccano Web Ring and some of the models are pretty amazing.  Its a shame there isnt more thats available and affordable as tinplate trains and erector models are made for each other.   bertiejoa

Hi,

It took some time before I answered..... Well the TERRIER from MERKLUR is available. I don't have one in stock now but there are some in stock at the factory.
The price will be € 270,- without the Dutch VAT. The Dutch VAT is 21%. If you live without the EEC I don't need to calculate the VAT.
You must know thet the MERKUR Terrier cannot be compared with the ETS one. They are really different models.
If you like to know more about it please contact me at info@blik-en-speelgoed.nl

Hi Bertiejoa,

I think you have bougth the MERKUR sets in the period that the Czech prices were very low. Please look at my site for prices www.blik-en-speelgoed.nl
I deliver outside the EEC without VAT (21%). I deliver the parts too.
In this forum you can see the shipment costs.

Hi Terry,

Yeah we used the Queens or Kings English in the catalogue. However I understand the US terms too.

Be aware the prices on my ebsite are inclusive 21% Dutch VAT. When I ship outside the EEC thre will be no VAT. Local taxes will and has to be paid by the costumer.

Shipment to the US is done by the Dutch post. They are the cheapest and won't charge you for custom handling.

Prices are:

till 2 kg    € 24,30

till 5 kg    € 34,30

till 10 kg  € 58,30

till 20 kg  € 105,30

It takes about 10 work days to de delivered.

So the shipment of one tank car is relative expensive.

f there are any questions, I will hear from you

Best regards,

Rob

Hi Casey,

The ETS rail has the same profile as for example Atlas. MERKUR has a tubular profile like you mee see in the Lionel tubular tinplate Railway track.

MERKUR and ETS are not compatible. ETS made a connection between three rail Atlas and tinplater tubular but that is a three rail component.

The two rail MERKUR track is not available in points (switches) and crossings

Thanks for the ETS pdf Rob. I am seriously considering adding a Terrier to my collection (In 3 rail.)

Yes, that was quite a storm on monday. I stayed indoors in the warm all day. I didn't have to travel anywhere after I got home to Apeldoorn on sunday evening.
