New Dcs 4.0 app and Lash ups

I would like to know if the new Dcs app (4.0) has fixed the lash up problem for apple tablet users. I also would like to know if this app is compatible with the old style TIU Rev L and the independent Wifi unit or does it only work with the new TIU/Wifi units that are just now starting to come out.

My tablet says there is an update to the app but I do not want to load it and then find out it does not run my system. Last time there was an update my tablet loaded it automatically before I could try to create a lash up. I have two steam engines that I would love to see run as one consist.
