Hi all, this is the track plan for my new layout I figured I would get some criticism before it becomes final. I intend to add more buildings and roads to the plan later.  The track is all gargraves except for the turntable which is a ross.

If your intent is to run trains on the double track loop and display some of your rolling stock on the yard tracks, then you've got a good plan.  If you intend to switch cars in and out of the yard, the plan is terrible.

All yard tracks are on one or even two switchbacks and the tail tracks are so short that only one car at a time can be moved by the switcher.  The yard is one big sliding tile puzzle.

Here's an optional style yard and even this is limited to 3-6 cars. You'd think an 8x12 space would yield a bigger yard, but the useable space is only about 6x8. You might be able to reduce the footprint of the TT depending on what size engines you plan to buy. If you buy some smaller diesels and locate them on the right side, you may only need some 24.8" tracks there. That might let you expand the ovals to the right and give you more space for the yard.

Also, while the double-slip switch looks nice, there have been several posts saying they can be problematic and more trouble than they are worth.
