WOW!! Very nice!!!
Great video Nick! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice locomotive and video! Did my eyes deceive me, or was the flag at Horseshoe Curve moving in the breeze?
Sweet and love the vibrating flag at the curve!
Thanks so much gentlemen!!
Mark no, your eyes are not fooling you! The flag waves in the wind from a fan under the layout! There's a hole cut in the layout and the air blows up thru the base of the flag making it wave! It's the coolest thing ever lol. Especially for the horseshoe curve!
Here's a better look at it...
She's a BEASTLY thing! Nice engine
That was awesome!
Mighty fine looking engine Nick! Great video.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks again guys! I'm really impressed, and pleased with the new Legacy Allegheny. The model is very detailed and the hooter whistle with whistle smoke is awesome!! I waited for this engine to come out for years, since before it was in a catalog. I knew they'd make it eventually. There's still a couple on my want list. Legacy prr t1 & s1 duplex's and then by all mighty I swear I'm done with big steam engines....
(Who am I kidding)
Very nice!!! Thanks for posting your video. Enjoy!!!
David
Nick,
Good luck with your new engine, it is a beauty. Also love the flag.

Beautiful engine Nick !!!

Even though I would've been more pleased to see this as a Vision locomotive (considering its catalog price), Lionel definitely did a superb job on this beast nonetheless.
The sounds are a direct bullseye, especially that whistle. A definite improvement over the previous JLC version. The whistle steam looks extremely strong, and I actually like the dressy whitewalls on the drivers.
Enjoy that locomotive Nick. It's definitely a keeper.
Sounds like they nailed the whistle! Kudos to Lionel.
David, Alex, Thomas, John & johnathan.....thank you all so much! The allegheny was worth the wait and most of the price lol. It's a bit steep and another visionline like feature would've been cool, but I love it!
I have to agree with you Nick. It really is a beautifully detailed engine. Seems they got the whistle right too! I had a blast unpacking and giving mine a maiden run last night.

Well, from what I heard on the video, the whistle is close, i.e. it is an N&W "hooter" but not quite the higher pitched C&O "hooter". Still sounds great anyway.
Love that whistle and is this the first Lionel offering where the tender trucks have the chains attached to the tender? Love it
My new Allegheny (#1601) arrived yesterday evening - just in time for Thanksgiving break! Am looking forward to unpacking and running it today. Will run it side-by-side with my JLC Allegheny.

It sounds pretty similar to the whistle in the QSI Titan which was a recoding of an actual C&O single chime whistle from what I understand.
UN REAL Your layout makes it even better.Nick
