I know on some of the first issues Diesel Lionmaster Locos, the Blind wheels on the trucks, never seemed like they touched the rails and rolled along. On the new Legacy Lionmaster type diesels, it seems like Lionel changed the wheels, so all the wheels including the blind wheels are now rolling on the rails giving it a more "realistic" appearance. Is this correct? Just curious.

You could trying pulling up the latest Lionmaster diesl set on the parts section and see what it looks like on the parts breakdown photo. Ironically, when Lionel offered those older Lionmaster diesels with the blind driver, the blind driver was actually an idler gear assembly allowing for power to both 1st and 3rd axles on each truck making them great pullers, while scale diesels of that time came with single axle drive on each truck.........he he.
I see Lionel changed the trucks on the Lionmaster Diesels. The first issue lionmaster diesels had the "blind driver which was an idler gear like RickO stated, the new Legacy Lionmasters have the new truck assembly with 6 flanged wheels and the newer mechanism you can pop off when turning the truck 180 degrees.
