I really enjoy building models, that is what attracted me to bringing Korber Models back in business after it closed some years ago.  While I have a lot of korber models in my layout, some as originally designed some as a kit bash, I am always looking for unique looking models to make my layout uniquely mine.  Foe me, I don't want a layout of fresh out of the box MTH or Menards models everyone has.

The other day I was doing some searches on line and came across a new o scale building supplier(well new to me) called Right on Track Models.

My question is has any one else found these guys and have you built any kits? I would love to see some photos.

i ordered a few kits, they came fast and were packed well.  Here are some photos.

These are the picture of the two kits I bought.

I started building the Tanner kit, in a few hours I got it mostly built until I realized the spray paint I wanted to use was bad so I will get some more tomorrow.

the kits seem nice, tichy windows and doors, nice laser cut parts.  The kits included strip wood for bracing.  So far very nice.

lokinh for any feedback you guys have, these are very unique looking kits.

Another company making buildings from 20 plus years ago. I wish someone would make modern structures.  I'm so glad Menards is doing what they are with modern structures. I only hope others will follow.  We have all these modern coal and tank cars but no one makes a structure to go with them.  Sorry for my rant.  But great looking buildings by a new company in our hobby. I wish them the best.

Very, very nice!

And it would be nice, too, if this company could be added to the Scenery Sourcelist created by the late Dave Gauss.

Forum-meisters:  Any chance to get this company added?

Looking longer term.....any chance of passing the responsibility for maintaining this valuable resource to a qualified OGR person, so that we could email new/updated info for the sourcelist for consideration????

Just asking.

Well Lionel did make the Rotary Coal Unloader and MTH make s the tanks and Loader and unloader platform as well!

You can get Joe Faulty to make you some metal looking structure to cover the rotary unloader as well as a modern tank facility!

That Wilson Brothers building looks like a larger version of the Clevermodels "Plant #2" kit.

$130 plus shipping and import duties to the UK for the Wilson Brothers kit, or $10 instant download for the Clevermodels kit...

I know which I prefer!

Still, I'm definitely interested in your build of the kits, they do both look very nice.

I am a somewhat recent addition to the O Scale shadowbox building and now kit field. As a Forum participant since 2000, I appreciate both the resources that it offers and the level of advertising protection that is provided to advertisers. When I first started offering an introduction on the Structures threads it was clearly my intent to ultimately sell them to those who read the posts. After several conversations with OGR, I understood their intent and policy, and they set me up with the sponsorship opportunity.

I look forward to meeting new potential customers at York in two weeks. For those who have followed and supported my products, thank you!

Many have asked about our models in kit form and we're making some available. If you would be interested in a session at York to get an introduction to our methods and materials, I am all in! It would have to be after show hours and not during Forum dinner night. Call me to discuss!!!

Based on this new connection, I've been in contact with Rich at Right on Track Models. I've given him drawings of the Bronx Victorian (small version) in DXF format. CorelDraw can convert to AutoCad which is what Rich uses. I got a quote from him today and it appears reasonable. I would like River Leaf to also give me quote and I will go with the most reasonable. Each approaches it differently. Rich uses thinner basswood for the basic box, whereas Andre used 1/4" MDF. Basswood is a more traditional laser-cut material (a la Bar Mills) and is very easy to work with, whereas 1/4" MDF is thick enough that you don't need to add much corner bracing. It's a tradeoff and both engrave bricks nicely. I'll keep all those interested posted on my thread.

Doug,

Not going to York in April, but we can discuss off line. While I was working with River Leaf, Andre's day job is consuming most (all) of his time. I'm sure he will be back on the model company when that dies down, but the company for whom he's working is bringing out a radically new method to do offset printing and (seems to me) that it will be quite a while before he is released to pursue his other interests. That being said, I really shouldn't be speaking to him, but I can attest that he's been consumed from late Fall until now and that's almost 6 months.
