One of the forum members loves to see me squirm when he comes up with a new project for me to do. This one was no exception when he asked me to convert a standard Amtrak passenger car onto car no 10001. He gave me some pictures and as usual, it did not really sink in to me because I had no idea how I was going to go about this.
I started with replacing the windows to match the configuration on the pictures he gave me of 10001. I figured ythe easiest way was to cut the windows area right out of the car and build something new. I was so happy to find out the car was made of styrene so I could easily glue back the new styrene window section. Here are some pictures.
