I just put the finishing touches on my foyer Santa Inc. Industrial Complex Display. My layout runs right past it as it is incorporated into my home.

I custom built the base from MDF, rounded some corners and added some legs. I learned that MDF is not an optimal material for this type of build, and it will be reconstructed in oak this summer. More on that later.

Many of you remember my custom elf project (HO scale because elves are little imps), and also the Polar Express Christmas Tree, which were subsets of this display. I'll post up as many different angles as I can.

This first post covers the main Santa Inc. manufacturing facility on the bottom level, and his personal residence on level 2.

The manufacturing base consists of two general toy production facilities, Santa's production office, a cookie/sweet shop to keep the elves sustained with nutritious meals, and a state of the art Lionel Train production house.

On the second level, we find Santa's Castle, where he plans his flights and maintains the master NN (Naughty/Nice) databases. We also have it on record that Mrs. Claus runs a tight ship in the castle, keeping it spotless and festively decorated year round for visiting dignitaries. Additionally, the reindeer stables and flight control center is also on this level in close proximity to the castle. Santa is a super fan of sweets, particularly chocolate fudge and taffy, so an official fudge shop is located on this level as well.

The final item on this level is the Jolly Elf Recreation Facility, which offers ice skating, hockey and curling year round. A bobsled track and luge facility are planned for 2018.

Part 2:  The Launch Level

The top level consists of the sleigh launching pad, associated ground support ops, and the official Grand Christmas Tree. A little known fact- this is also the location of a state of the art communications tower cleverly disguised inside the official Grand Christmas Tree. This "tree" utilizes ultra high UHF frequencies to communicate with NORAD, and official elf embassy locations around the world. It also transmits messages to other country's defense forces to advise flight paths, airspace intent and to communicate the spirit of the season. The tree is also situated directly over the North Pole which assists Santa by amplifying proprietary NN Database reporting carrier waves. Some have speculated that the magnetic field concentration somehow helps Santa keep tabs on all the good little boys and girls. We cannot comment on that though, as it is classified.

The launch pad is ready for Santa to depart, and the elves are taking the opportunity to see their year-long toy production take to the sky. It is a joyous time indeed, when elven families come together to see the mission off for another Christmas Eve run. It also seems the Polar Express has brought a boy in a blue robe. He is in for a big surprise isn't he?

Tomorrow I may take some video, as many items are animated... Enjoy everyone, and Merry Christmas to you all!
